Bulan Ramadhan bulan mulia

Disambut dengan penuh genbira,

Kini Syawal menjelma tiba,

Tangan ku hulur maaf dipinta

Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir Bantin 

Growing up, my siblings and I were fortunate to experience the essence of Raya celebrations. We’d dress up and go to the "Open House" of Hamzah and Rosli, the Muslim staff of our parents’ provision shop in Malacca. I remember relishing the delicious food like rendang and ketupat, as well as the opportunity to experience the Malay culture firsthand.

Fast forward several decades to this Raya, we have a chance to relive those nostalgic memories. Our team member, Alia, helped me weave coconut leaves into "sarung ketupat," and aided by step-by-step YouTube videos, I prepared "rendang" and "kuah kacang" for the team's iftar yesterday. In today's era of convenience, where food delivery and dining out are the norm, it was a humbling experience to learn and appreciate the traditional methods of preparing food. Moreover, it was an excellent opportunity that brought the team closer together.

On this joyous Raya, we would like to wish all our Muslim customers Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri and happy holidays to all Malaysians.
