A Weekend of Grounding
— and a Gentle Reminder of Our Mission 🌿

When we packed for a 3D2N stay at Terra Tree House in Cameron Highlands, I didn’t expect much.
In fact, I was a little nervous — how would I survive without any connection for the entire stay?

It turned out that this modest wellness retreat offered far more than I imagined.

As shared in a Mothership article, Terra Tree House was originally founded by Ng Tien Khuan and Woonsing Ho, a couple who built this haven based on biodynamic agriculture — farming that nourishes the soil through natural cycles and harmony with nature.

Ming Yao
, who takes full ownership of the place and leads every part of the experience — from the pickup journey to each healing session. He shared that his purpose here is simple yet profound: to serve the mountain.

The journey itself was an adventure — a 30-minute truck ride deep into the jungle, followed by a short hike uphill. Once we arrived, we were greeted with warm sourdough bread and soothing tea before beginning our first activity:

water healing.

Barefoot, we walked through the forest to a small pool, where each of us poured icy-cold mountain water over our heads. It was shockingly cold, yet incredibly cleansing. Miraculously, no one fell sick — perhaps because nature’s purity has its own kind of protection.

Electricity was only available from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm. When darkness arrived, the forest came alive with its own rhythm. I slept soundly, cradled by the sounds of nature.

Saturday was a full day — nourishing breakfast, barefoot jungle trekking, forest bathing,

sound healing, and fire healing.

Each activity was personally led by Ming Yao. His calm presence set the tone — every moment was deliberate, every silence meaningful. By evening, as we warmed our feet over the fire, I felt both physically restored and spiritually at peace.

On the final morning, we gathered for a simple breakfast and reflection. I had the chance to share about Origin Bulk Store — our mission to inspire mindful living through simple choices: eating clean, reducing waste, and living with purpose.

He smiled and said something that stayed with me:

“Your personal zero-waste lifestyle is already doing good to the universe. Blessings will always be bestowed upon you.”

Those words reminded me why OBS exists — to make sustainability and wellness accessible, one mindful habit at a time.

Those words from Mary Davis resonate deeply with my experience:

"A walk in nature walks the soul back home."

May we all slow down, reconnect with nature, and live a little more consciously — because the world becomes gentler when we do. 💚
