The discovery of hidden gem Song Yan Eco Farm — Ichi-Go Ichi-E

The discovery of hidden gem Song Yan Eco Farm

— Ichi-Go Ichi-E

I had heard of Song Yan Eco Farm since 2020. It had always been on my to-do list,

but somehow I only made it there last Sunday.

Set on a 22-hectare land, almost every inch of Song Yan Eco Farm is wrapped in lush greenery and nature. As the name suggests, Song (松) means pine tree, while Yan (岩) means big rock. True enough, the land is dotted with beautiful large rocks, and many pine trees have been planted throughout the farm.

The moment I stepped into the compound,  I knew I was in the right place.

What touched me most was how meticulously the entire place is maintained. Everything was spotless, peaceful, and so thoughtfully kept.

We checked in on Sunday and checked out on Tuesday, during a normal work week. There were only a few guests around, yet the place was beautifully maintained and the service crew was attentive throughout our stay. It felt like an exclusive retreat in the best possible way.

Moments from Song Yan

A stay made for bonding

It was an exclusive stay experience during the slow season. With only a few guests checking in on Monday, the quiet spaces offered the kind of quality bonding time that feels rare and precious.

Farm-to-table goodness

Farm-to-table goodness They practise farm-to-table dining here. Most of the fruits and vegetables come from the farm itself, fresh and organically grown.

A lovely zero-waste touch

One detail I loved — even used water bottles were thoughtfully repurposed here. Don’t you just love the zero-waste practice?

The best reading spot ever

Ichigo Ichie: The Art of Making the Most of Every Moment, the Japanese Way.

It truly is one of the best reading spots ever. If you plan a stay at Song Yan, do bring a good book. The blissful reading experience here is something you would not forget.

A reminder that time moves quietly

For the first time ever, Jess skipped the swing during a holiday like this. A little reminder to me that she is now a teenager.

Thoughtfulness in the little things

This DIY umbrella rack was handmade by the team here. Isn’t it lovely? There is a quiet thoughtfulness here — everything seems to have found its right place.

A nugget from the book

Ichigo Ichie — “Once, a meeting”

“Each meeting, everything we experience, is a unique treasure that will never be repeated in the same way again. So, if we let it slip away without enjoying it, the moment will be lost forever.”

This line stayed with me throughout the stay.

It reminded me to be fully present, and to treasure each moment as it comes.

And yes... Pineapple Mix came along too

I must confess — work follows me wherever I go.

I brought along 3 packs of our Pineapple Mix, and gifted 1 pack to each group who checked in on the same day as us. One of them even asked to buy the last pack from me.

Now I am wondering — how many packs should I bring the next time I go?
